2019 Sea Kayak Guide In Training | Ages 16-18

OVERVIEW

This 13 night/14 day program will give participants the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a sea kayak guide. Participants will spend the first six days on Cow Island learning and refining wilderness camp craft, paddling skills, navigation techniques, and leadership/facilitation styles. The remainder of the program, participants will use what they have learned to collaboratively plan and execute a six-day, five-night sea kayak expo around the islands of Stonington, Maine. As part of this program, participants will have the opportunity to complete a Wilderness First Aid course offered over a weekend in either Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.

Students must apply to attend. Please submit your application no later than June 1, 2019. Applicants are accepted throughout the spring, so make sure to get your application in as soon as possible.
