2019 Sea Kayak Guide In Training | Ages 16-18
This 13 night/14 day program will give participants the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a sea kayak guide. Participants will spend the first six days on Cow Island learning and refining wilderness camp craft, paddling skills, navigation techniques, and leadership/facilitation styles. The remainder of the program, participants will use what they have learned to collaboratively plan and execute a six-day, five-night sea kayak expo around the islands of Stonington, Maine. As part of this program, participants will have the opportunity to complete a Wilderness First Aid course offered over a weekend in either Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.
